Title: Exploring DIY Mallets: A Sustainable Approach for Percussion Education
Our project focuses on researching and developing affordable, high-quality percussion mallets that can be made using low-cost, accessible materials. We then partner with local schools to teach students and educators how to construct their own mallets, giving them practical skills they can continue using beyond the project. By combining research with hands-on instruction, we aim to reduce financial barriers that limit access to quality percussion equipment. This work empowers music programs to maintain and expand their resources while helping students better understand sound production and instrument care.
