Is College in High School Right for me?

Admission Requirements

  • High School Junior or Senior. Sophomores may be considered with letter of recommendation from Guidance Office
  • Minimum of 80.0 grade point average in a Regents/College preparatory curriculum as indicated on an official high school transcript

Transferability of Credit

  • Due to SUNY's seamless transfer policy, any course taken at SUNY Potsdam is guaranteed to transfer to any other SUNY institution. Acceptance of transfer credit outside of the SUNY system is up to the discretion of the college or university to which you wish to transfer.

Application and Registration Process

  1. Complete the required CHS Student Information Form
    1. This does not commit you to taking a class, it allows us to put you in our system as a potential student. You may fill out this form at any time.
  2. Complete the Course Selection Form
    1. This form will inform us which classes to register you for. At the time you submit this form you will be committing to paying for the class. This form will be available in early September for Fall and Full year courses.
  3. Student receives notice of acceptance and information to login to SUNY Potsdam Account.
    1. This is sent to the email address you provided, make sure to check your Spam folder.
  4. Activate your SUNY Potsdam Campus Computer Account. You will need to do this to pay your bill online and request transcripts.
  5. Student pays bill for class(es) they are taking 
    1. For Fall Only and Full Year Courses Bills will be available October 18th and due by Nov. 15th.
    2. Payments can be made 24/7 via the Cashnet e-bill portal or by check. Click here for more information about paying for your course.

Requesting a Transcript

In order to officially document student participation we strongly suggest requesting a copy of your transcript at the completion of your course. If inquiring about transferring credits to another institution, they will also want a copy of your transcript. Instructions on how to request a transcript are available online.
