The State University of New York at Potsdam Institutional Review Board was established to protect the rights and welfare of human research subjects. Since the conduct of research with human subjects may raise fundamental ethical and civil rights questions, no distinctions in the monitoring of projects will be drawn between funded and non-funded projects, or between projects carried out by students, faculty, staff, agents or affiliate researchers (on-campus or off-campus).
SUNY Potsdam official policy statement on the use of Human Subjects in research and the approval process can be found online here.
Notice: All IRB Submisssions after July 31, 2018 MUST be completed using the IRB-PAC. Training Videos for the IRB-OAC can be found HERE. Check back for updates.
Questions or concerns should be directed to IRB Chair David Bugg at SUNYPotsdamIRB@potsdam.edu or by calling ext 2688.
