NYS Charitable Tax Credit Program

Designate a Portion of Your NYS Taxes to SUNY Potsdam

For the fifth year in a row, the NYS Charitable Tax Credit Program offered though the SUNY Impact Foundation will allow residents of New York State to support SUNY Potsdam through a tax credit.

To be eligible, individuals must have a 2025 New York State tax liability that exceeds $10,000. Donations qualifying under the NYS Charitable Tax Credit program will be limited to a minimum of $10,000 and a maximum of $100,000 per donor/income tax filing.

For the sum of the qualified contributions in 2025, a donor may receive the following tax benefits:

  • 85% tax credit on New York State taxes
  • 15% deduction on New York State taxes (for those who itemize their deductions)
  • 15% deduction on federal taxes (for those who itemize their deductions)

Interested donors must first contact SUNY Potsdam

The application deadline is 5 p.m. EST September 30, 2025. 

Additional details:

  • Donors may designate their gifts.
  • Gifts may be made from wire transfer, credit card, stocks or a combination.
  • Gifts from family foundations, S corporations, donor-advised funds or IRA Charitable Rollovers are not eligible.

The Raymond Legacy Society celebrates those who have notified the Potsdam College Foundation that they have made a gift arrangement in their estate to the College, as well as those who have established a permanent endowed fund with the Potsdam College Foundation or permanently named a space on campus. The Society also provides educational material on giving to assist alumni and friends in achieving their philanthropic goals.
