Community Performance Series Announces Audition Calls for Summer Musical

Auditions to be Held Feb. 28 & March 1 for Summer Community Performance Series Musical Production of ‘Cinderella, Enchanted Edition’

Community Performance Series is pleased to announce the upcoming auditions for its 2026 summer musical, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella: Enchanted Edition.”

CPS is seeking cast members ages 10 and up, for principal and ensemble roles for the musical production.  

Auditions will be held from Feb. 28 to March 2, in the Proscenium Theater, located in SUNY Potsdam’s Performing Arts Center.  

Audition spots will be available as follows: 

  • Saturday, Feb. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Sunday, March 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. 
  • Callbacks will be held on Monday, March 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare 16 to 32 bars of a song from a show similar to “Cinderella: Enchanted Edition.” A list of acceptable shows and additional audition requirements are available on the Community Performance Series website. Please note no vocal audition is required for children auditioning in Grades 4 to 6. 

Attendees should also wear comfortable clothing they can move in and bring water in a resealable bottle, as those who attend will be taught dance steps and asked to perform them. 

“Cinderella: Enchanted Edition” is adapted from the teleplay and based on the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. The production will include performances on July 10 and from July 16 to 19, all held in the Proscenium Theater.  

In addition to casting the show, CPS is also seeking volunteers to assist as members of the backstage crew and front of house staff.
