Assistant Professor of Inclusive and Special Education Vacancy

On-line applications are being accepted for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Inclusive and Special Education position beginning fall 2019.

Responsibilities include teaching special education courses with a focus on learners with mild/moderate disabilities (B-12), including teaching undergraduate and graduate introductory special education courses, advising, participating in department and campus-wide committees, and conducting research suitable for publication. Doctorate in special education or related field (PhD Candidate considered) and three years of work experience in B-12 special education, including classroom teaching, and experience working with diverse populations is required.

Preference given to candidates with preparation/experience in one or more of the following: early childhood/childhood special education, research methods, collaborative strategies, literacy methods, and assistive technology. Preference will also be given to candidates with teaching experience at the college level and supervising practica, and those with experience developing and teaching online courses. We are, especially, seeking candidates who have worked with, done research with, or taught under-represented groups and have worked collaboratively across various departments in fostering success of underrepresented groups. The successful candidate may be expected to teach courses that are hybrid, online, or offsite.
