Director of Student Conduct Vacancy

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards within Student Life is accepting on-line applications for a new Director. The Director is responsible for coordinating all parts of the student conduct process based in the philosophies of restorative justice and inclusive excellence.

Responsibilities include processing referrals, investigating incidents, assigning of charges, individual meetings with students, and recruiting for and overseeing hearing and appeal boards. In addition, the Director will assist with various compliance functions to include CLERY, FERPA, and Title IX. The Director will work closely with many campus departments to include University Police, Residence Life, College Counseling Center, Center for Diversity, and the Student Success Center as well as the Potsdam Village Police Department. The Director will possess organization, leadership, assessment, and crisis management skills; experience working with diverse students and staff; and the ability to address challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.

Required qualifications include a Master’s Degree and at least 5 years of full-time, professional experience in higher education and experience working with a diverse college student population. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in College Student Personnel or Higher Education and Administration, previous experience working in an educationally based Student Conduct Office in a college setting, knowledge and experience working with Title IX, CLERY. and an understanding of student development and student learning theories.
