Director Vacancy for the Graduate and Continuing Education Office

SUNY Potsdam is accepting on-line applications for a new Director for the Graduate and Continuing Education office.  This dynamic leader will develop and oversee innovative approaches to the operation of the office, the primary purpose of which is to meet or exceed graduate enrollment targets, as well as provide comprehensive student services, from admission to graduation. 

Selected candidate’s duties will include, but are not limited to:  coordinate all strategic planning and operations within Graduate Studies, including supervising professional and clerical staff; develop a positive working environment within the Graduate Studies office; maintain an accurate and efficient system for budgetary allocations; implement SUNY graduate policies and process graduate documents; and be able to work with an increasingly diverse population of students, faculty and other college staff in a positive, collegial and professional way. Creativity and entrepreneurialism are highly encouraged to accomplish tasks and meet goals, with demonstration of transformational team-building leadership skills. 

This role involves significant campus and off-campus availability, alternative work hours, and a high degree of flexible student-centered service. Selected candidate will be expected to work closely with the Executive Director of Graduate and Continuing Education to develop the strategic direction of the office in support of both graduate education and Academic Affairs. A Master’s degree or higher and 3-5 years of successful administrative experience in a leadership role is required.
