Fall Days of Reflection

October 7, 2019

This semester's Days of Reflection: Education for Racial Equity and Justice events will be held Monday, Oct. 7 through Thursday, Oct.10. The detailed schedule is available here.

On the schedule, each of the sessions is labeled to indicate its level of challenge: (1) first steps, (2) deepening our understanding, and (3) challenging ourselves. Each session is also identified as presentation, workshop, or film screening. One of the sessions has a maximum participant cap. Please take this information into account when choosing sessions to attend. These are educational events for members of the SUNY Potsdam community only.

Eight events are planned to discuss racial equity and justice in the following areas: construction of race, women's health justice, mental health care, Asian model minority myth, bilingualism, addressing bias on campus, immigration, and cultural appropriation. To find out more details about the content of each section, please check out the presentation descriptions here.

Please join us at the events and join us as well in thanking all the amazing presenters who make these events possible in the first place. The Days of Reflection are sponsored by the College's Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. More general information about Days of Reflection can be found at https://www.potsdam.edu/daysofreflection
