The Financial Aid office is accepting on-line applications for a Financial Aid Counselor.
Responsibilities include working with students and parents to determine financial needs and recommend assistance and programs in compliance with all federal & state regulatory requirements. Review and adjust financial aid applications and award packages. Certify eligibility and authorize awards/vouchers for payment. Coordinate communication with students regarding aid eligibility, missing documents and required deadlines. Serve on office and/or campus committees relevant to job responsibilities and interests. Complete other responsibilities that will be assigned as load permits.
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, excellent customer service skills, aptitude for managing details, understanding of basic computer applications, ability to contribute to and promote a team environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues and who have demonstrated a commitment to creating, fostering and sustaining an inclusive environment. Some evening and weekend hours in support of students’ needs and campus recruitment initiatives are also required.
