SUNY Potsdam Alumni Raise Nearly $2 Million for 2019 Reunion Class Gifts

SUNY Potsdam will welcome nearly 700 alumni and friends back to campus during Reunion Weekend 2019, from Thursday, July 11 to Sunday, July 14.

With a number of special celebrations and commemorations, alumni have also chosen to give back to their alma mater as they head back for reunion. SUNY Potsdam alumni and friends have given a total of $1,988,959 in honor of 2019 class reunions, as of July 8.

Five classes have exceeded their class giving goals this year, including:

  • The Class of 2009, with $7,693,
  • The Class of 1999, with $8,816,
  • The Class of 1984, with $10,698,
  • The Class of 1979, with $59,773, and
  • The Class of 1974, with $128,293.

The 50-Year Club, which is made up of all classes from 1968 and earlier, has $1,688,488 in class gifts this past year, to benefit students and programs at SUNY Potsdam. This giving includes both outright gifts and the establishment of funds through planned or estate giving.

Many alumni honor their reunion celebration by going above and beyond their typical annual giving. All gifts from each class, regardless of designation, are counted in each class’s reunion total.
