SUNY Potsdam Welcomes Prospective Students with ‘Destination: Potsdam’ Program

SUNY Potsdam Helps Prospective Students Find their Path This Summer, with Destination: Potsdam Events

SUNY Potsdam will help prospective students get set up for success this summer, through the College’s new Destination: Potsdam program.

The College will offer a series of special evening sessions to help assist anyone interested in earning a SUNY Potsdam degree find out what they need to know about applying, affording college and getting registered.

“Summer is a great time to find out more about SUNY Potsdam. If you’re interested in enrolling this fall, it’s not too late! There is still some guaranteed housing available for accepted students. If you’re wondering about transferring, we can sit down and figure out exactly which classes will transfer for the degree program you are interested in. Maybe you just want to jumpstart your college search, or find out about our flexible graduate programs. No matter your situation, we are here to help,” said Director of Admissions Tom Nesbitt.

All Destination: Potsdam events will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., to help accommodate busy schedules. Current high school students, recent graduates, college students considering transferring, and prospective graduate students are all welcome to stop by.

The Destination: Potsdam sessions will be offered on:

  • Tuesday, June 25
  • Wednesday, July 31
  • Thursday, Aug. 8

Staff will be on hand to help prospective students wrap up their applications, and all participants will be considered for instant admission, if their high school or previous college record meets Potsdam’s criteria.

Prospective students can also request assistance with financial aid, student accounts and academic advising, to help answer questions about affording college and registering for classes.

Students who can’t travel to Potsdam can still have their questions answered during the events. Staff will be on call and available to assist via telephone. For assistance, call 1 (877) POTSDAM.

Sign-in for the event will be offered at Becky’s Place, near Raymond Hall. Light refreshments will be available.

“Once you’ve visited campus, we hope you’ll take a walk downtown and see for yourself why we love our historic hometown,” Nesbitt said.
