Pamela Michne Fox ’59 has just finalized a historic gift to her alma mater of more than $1 million—the largest gift in the College’s history in support of scholarships.

SUNY Potsdam Announces Restart Plans for the Fall
SUNY Potsdam has developed a Restart Plan for the Fall 2020 semester in line with all New York Forward higher education regulations and SUNY requirements, and in consultation with public health officials and community leaders. Classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, Aug. 31 with a mix of on-campus, virtual and hybrid learning experiences, while adhering to strict protocols to ensure the safety of all returning students, faculty and staff.
SUNY Potsdam Honors Dr. Michael Sitton with 2020 Roger B. Linden Distinguished Service Award
SUNY Potsdam has named Crane School of Music Dean Michael Sitton (Hon. ’20) as the recipient of its 2020 Roger B. Linden Distinguished Service Award, the highest award bestowed by the College. President Kristin G. Esterberg surprised Sitton with the award as he arrived on campus just days before he is set to retire. The Roger B. Linden Distinguished Service Award is normally presented during Commencement, but the College was unable to do so this year as it marked a virtual celebration.
SUNY Potsdam Announces President’s & Dean’s Lists for Spring 2020
SUNY Potsdam recently honored 1,409 students who excelled academically in the Spring 2020 semester by naming them to the President’s List and Dean’s List—an especially impressive achievement this term, given the many institutional and societal changes and the switch to distance learning due to the pandemic.
SUNY Potsdam Community Assists in Fight Against COVID-19
The SUNY Potsdam has collected hundreds of pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) from around campus for donation to the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department and the county Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and a staff member has used her own seed money to set up a mask-making shop in her basement. Meanwhile, other faculty and staff are using 3D printers to create face shield visors and strap holders for N95 masks, while alumni working in industry are ramping up production of face masks and shields.
