Research Involving Human Or Animal Subjects
According to Federal and State law the Research Foundation, and College policy any research proposal involving the use of human or animal subjects must receive the approval of the campus Human Subjects Institutional Review Board or the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee as appropriate prior to submission to a sponsor or implementation of the research project. The purpose of this policy is to protect the rights and welfare of human subjects and to insure humane treatment of animal subjects.
Conflict of Interest (COI)
In accordance with Federal regulations, SUNY Potsdam requires that a researcher disclose any potential conflict of interest (COI) due to a significant financial interest in a sponsored activity to the Research and Sponsored Programs Office before a proposal for that activity may be submitte
Airfare Procedure
In accordance with the Office of Government Relations, airfare purchased using State, IFR or Dorm funds must be arranged through the New York State Contract vendor and purchased using the traveler's JP Morgan Chase Travel Card. Airfare not purchased through our State contract vendor will NOT be reimbursed to the traveler.
Accreditations
AccreditationSUNY Potsdam is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission). SUNY Potsdam’s accreditation status is Accreditation Reaffirmed. The Commission’s most recent action on the institution’s accreditation status on June 22, 2023, was to reaffirm accreditation. MSCHE is recognized by the U.S.
Definitions
Accused is a person accused of a violation. They can also be referred to as the Respondent. Actual Knowledge means notice of sexual harassment or allegations of sexual harassment to a recipient’s Title IX Coordinator or any official of the recipient who has the authority to institute corrective measures on behalf of the recipient, or to any employee of an elementary and secondary school.
Preferred Sources
The acquisition of commodities and/or services from preferred sources is exempted from statutory competitive procurement requirements.It is the declared policy of the University to purchase from preferred source suppliers whenever possible, after determining that the form, function and utility of preferred source products and services meet the University's requirements.
