Prospective Employers

Students completing this minor will become more in demand within a job market requiring a diverse number of skills. The students who choose to minor in Wilderness Education come to us from many disciplines across the SUNY Potsdam campus. Students choose this minor to:

  • learn or enhance lifelong skills in outdoor pursuits.
  • gain the required skills and attributes to be able to work in outdoor and adventure pursuits.
  • develop Leadership skills that are transferable to all types of employment.

Those students graduating with a degree in areas such as geology, education, community health and a minor in wilderness education may enjoy occupational opportunities including, but not limited to, the following broad areas:
