Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)

Requires the student to complete an online or paper application in the first award year.
Limited to New York State residents enrolled at an in-state college.
Awards are dependent upon passage of the annual NY State budget and are officially determined by the New York Higher Education Services Corp. (HESC).
Awards based on tuition rates at the institution the student attends.
All TAP awards are initially estimated. Notification of final TAP awards will be sent by HESC.
TAP awards are subject to change.

NY State aid may also be available for NYS residents attending less than full time through the Part-Time TAP or Aid for Part Time Study (APTS) programs. Visit HESC for more information.
Students from mixed status families are now eligible to apply for NYS financial aid without completing the FAFSA at https://www.hesc.ny.gov/altpath. Students may also reach out to finaid@potsdam.edu to learn more about their options to apply for NYS aid.
