SUNY Potsdam awards over $3,000,000 in scholarships annually to incoming and returning students. The majority of these awards are provided through the generosity of the alumni and friends of the College who wish to help students achieve their potential. To ensure fairness among applicants and recipients and comply with donors’ wishes, SUNY Potsdam has established the following policies. By accepting an award, students agree to comply with these policies. If you have any questions regarding these policies or your scholarship, please contact One Stop.

Terms / Notes
- If an out-of-state scholarship recipient becomes eligible for in-state tuition, it may result in a reduction in the amount of the scholarship.
- SUNY Potsdam started offering online programs in the fall 2023 semester. Should a student decide to switch to an Online Program, the amount of the scholarship will be reduced.
- At a later date, the funding source for your scholarship may change, resulting in a differently named endowed scholarship. The total amount of your scholarship will remain the same. Certain endowed scholarships may require a different minimum GPA each semester. Students will be notified of this requirement in writing when the award is offered. Except for this difference, review procedures will remain the same.
Grade Review
SUNY Potsdam will review scholarship recipients’ grades on a semesterly basis. Students with a cumulative GPA less than the required minimum will receive written notification of the cancellation of the scholarship.
