Potsdam Prepared: Spring 2022 Updates

Reunion FAQS

Mark Your Calendars for Reunion 2022!

We hope you can join us in person for Reunion Weekend, but we also plan to continue offering virtual events for those who can’t make it to Potsdam.

This webpage will be updated regularly to include the most up-to-date information on all things Reunion 2022! If you do not see the answer to your question, email or call (315)267-2120.

What is the format of events for Reunion 2022?

This year, we are offering both in-person and virtual Reunion events. Most of the virtual events will take place July 12-13, and the in-person events will take place July 14-17 at SUNY Potsdam. In-person Reunion events will follow COVID-19 protocols consistent with New York State, SUNY and College guidelines at the time. All events are subject to change. We are hoping for beautiful summer weather that allows us to spend most of the weekend outside!

Do I have to register for Reunion?

Yes. If you want to take part in any in-person or virtual events, you will need to register using our online registration form, which will be available in April. This guarantees you will receive up-to-date information and links leading up to Reunion.

Registrations should be received prior to July 1, 2022. Registrations made on or after July 1 will be subject to a $25 late registration fee.

Who is invited to Reunion?

We encourage all alumni to join us for Reunion 2022, no matter their class year! Emeriti, spouses and friends are also welcome. We will specifically honor the 50-year class of 1972, as well as the classes of 1970 and 1971, whose 50-year Reunions were virtual due to the pandemic.

Will on-campus housing be available during Reunion?

Yes. Upon registering, you will be able to communicate your interest in staying on campus for Reunion 2022. You can choose to stay in a single or double dormitory room in Draime Hall or a townhouse. Bed linens will not be provided. All Reunion attendees staying in on-campus housing will need to provide proof of full vaccination from COVID-19; boosters are not required. Mask guidelines will be communicated closer to the event.

Can I make arrangements to be housed with friends?

Make sure to note on your registration the names of those with whom you would like to share a room or whom you would like to be housed near. If you are planning to share a room with someone, both parties should indicate that they will be rooming with each other on the registration form. As a reminder, all Reunion attendees staying on campus will need to provide proof of vaccination from COVID-19.

Are pets allowed on campus?

We are sorry, but no pets are allowed on campus. Please make alternate arrangements. Local pet boarding is available at Bows & Bandanas, (315) 265-DOGS.

If I have special dietary requirements, will arrangements be made?

Yes. Please indicate on your registration form if you have special dietary requirements. Dining services will make the necessary arrangements.

What should I pack?

We recommend packing casual, comfortable clothes for most of the weekend. Some attendees may want to bring business casual attire for Friday night’s anniversary dinner or Saturday night’s reception. In case of rain or cold weather, bring raincoats, sweaters and umbrellas. We hope to host many of our events outside, so don’t forget your sunscreen! Playpens and portable cribs should be on young families' lists, as they are not provided.

For those staying on campus: As a reminder, bed linens will not be provided in either Draime Hall or the Townhouses. We also encourage you to bring fans, as the dorms are not air-conditioned. Telephones and alarm clocks are not available in rooms either. If you are staying in a Townhouse, you will have access to a kitchen, but coffee pots, microwaves, dishes, cookware and utensils are not available.
