Mental Health During COVID

SUNY Potsdam Counselors Battle the Second Crisis of COVID: Mental Health The scorching days of summer descend into cooler nights as leaves showed off their brilliance and bonfires became the evening ritual. Then September brought dramatic change to our small communities. Children returned to school, parents and guardians take a deep breath as routine returned to their homes, and college students brought energy and financial stability to our businesses.

Summer & Winter Sessions

SUNY Potsdam offers sessions outside of the traditional academic year. These sessions include:

College Advancement Program (CAP)

SUNY Potsdam is proud to offer CAP (the College Advancement Program) for qualified high school juniors and seniors who would like to enroll in regularly-scheduled lower level credit courses on the Potsdam campus. Upon successful completion of a CAP course, students will receive academic credit from SUNY Potsdam.

Partnerships

SUNY Potsdam is proud to partner with more than 25 schools across New York State to offer concurrent enrollment opportunities to high school students. Employment

SUNY Potsdam utilizes an online system that allows applicants to view and apply for positions. This system is referred to as SPOLR (SUNY Potsdam Online Recruiting).

SUNY Potsdam’s TikTok Sensation: “You Can Never Stop Creating” A refuge from the grief of COVID-19 became a way to connect with millions of viewers for one man who grew up in Buffalo.

With the Adirondacks as a backyard, SUNY Potsdam is committed to fostering a College-wide culture of sustainability by promoting environmental stewardship and social responsibility, to inspire ecological solutions that forge a healthier campus, community and world.

What is ROTC?

SUNY Potsdam is a proud and actively contributing college to the Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) Program hosted at Clarkson University. ROTC is a leadership development program chartered by the branches of the military that can lead to a student receiving an officer’s commission.

An Example to Live By

At SUNY Potsdam’s virtual Legacy Series last fall, Nancy Castro ’00 could not help but notice the similarities between Garcia Oscar ’20 and Lloyd DeShawn Osborne ’00, despite the twenty-year gap between their class years. Both served as Resident Assistants on campus, volunteered to help those in need and advocated for justice and equity.

Campus Financial Resources

SUNY Potsdam engages in several revenue generating activities. Revenues from tuition are the college’s primary form of financial support, but many other revenue streams play an important role in enabling Potsdam to fulfill its mission in a more meaningful way. The source of the revenue determines where the revenue is required to be deposited and managed.
