Business Intelligence (BI)

SUNY Business Intelligence (BI) is a reporting tool that allows users to view account and transaction details.

Please see below for basic BI information and tips.  Users are encouraged to contact Phyllis Sampier Charleson with any questions or to schedule a one-on-one training with one of our staff.

A Note to ALL Campus Supervisors

As authority for your division, unit, or department:

  • When adding a new hire or transfer from another department who will need access/permission to your accounts, please submit a Financial Security Access Request Form to  Also, have them schedule a meeting with our office for basic training on budget procedures, tips on tracking budgets and SUNY reporting tools.
  • When an employee leaves your area that has BI, FMS and/or SFS access/permission, please contact Phyllis to have it removed immediately.

Use your Net ID and password after clicking here.

In BI, navigate to the Account Summary dashboard. Here you can query by account number. Account Summary will provide information on allocation, year to date expenditures, encumbrances and available balances.

BI was upgraded to work with Internet Explorer (IE) version 11, but it is suggested that you use either Firefox or Google Chrome.

Additionally, try clearing the cache for your browser.
