SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music will open the semester with the annual Spring Faculty Showcase, offering listeners the opportunity to hear performances from Crane’s renowned faculty in a livestreamed concert on Friday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The virtual format continues in keeping with public health precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

February 22, 2021 Dear Students, We know that there are many questions about the specific numbers that would result in our campus going “on pause,” as described in our spring plan. SUNY Potsdam’s Emergency Response and Resource Group closely follows a number of metrics and makes recommendations on campus operations in light of the pandemic—including the level of spread, our available quarantine and isolation space, and many other factors.

 Yamaha Corporation of America has named SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music as a 2021 honoree in its inaugural Institution of Excellence program, acknowledging the school’s extraordinary commitment to innovation in the study of music. 

February 22, 2021 Dear Students: I want to remind you about the campus expectations related to COVID-19 outlined in the SUNY Potsdam BEAR (Be Ethical And Responsible) COVID-19 Pledge. Please take a moment to re-read the pledge. While we know that we are asking you to sacrifice, only by limiting the spread of the virus can we ensure that everyone in our community stays healthy.

Emerging Leaders is coordinating its annual campus-wide appreciation effort to recognize numerous aspects of Potsdam pride as defined in the categories at the bottom of this email.  The goal of this effort is to recognize how members of the Potsdam community support one another; advocate for positive change; and provide inspiration and creativity to help us be our best. 

Many SUNY Potsdam students look forward to the day when COVID-19 travel restrictions loosen and safe study abroad experiences become available again. When that day arrives, more students will have the opportunity to travel without financial burdens because of the generosity of Gail Haynes Stradling ’64 and Richard Stradling, Jr. (St. Lawrence University Class of 1964, SUNY Potsdam Honorary Class of 2019).
