Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence Nomination Deadline
The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence acknowledges students for outstanding achievements. Students who have best demonstrated the integration of SUNY excellence within many aspects of their lives, which must include three of the following areas: academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, or the arts will be eligible for consideration. These students may have already received recognition from local, state, national or international organizations, and we would like you to include that information in the nomination process.&nbsp
SUNY Potsdam to Honor David E. Fluhr with Honorary Doctorate
SUNY Potsdam and its renowned Crane School of Music will present an Honorary Doctor of Music degree to acclaimed sound mixer David E. Fluhr during a private ceremony at Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, Calif., on Jan. 21, 2026. Fluhr will be honored for his creative accomplishments bringing sound and music to screen, in an invitation-only ceremony held in Disney Animation’s Burny Mattinson Theater. He is an honorary member of the SUNY Potsdam Class of 1979.

The SUNY Potsdam Institutional Review Board (IRB) reviews and approves all research activity involving the use of human subjects or activities involving data collection from, or related to, human subjects. State and federal laws require that all projects involving human subjects be reviewed.

We can share this talent with our community through non-credit lectures, one-off classes, or a series of classes, all of which will help the campus's efforts to kick start our new Continuing Educational effort known as P.L.A.C.E.- Public Learning, Arts, and Community Engagement.

SUNY Potsdam Alert: Spring 2022 semester academic calendar changes
January 7, 2021 Due to the surge of COVID cases statewide and in the North Country, SUNY Potsdam has made the decision to delay the start of the Spring 2022 semester by two weeks. Classes will now begin on Monday, January 31, and finals week will be moved to May 16 to 20.
