MSED: Curriculum and Instruction
This program is designed to meet the needs and interests of all education professionals. This includes those seeking professional NYS certification, as well as those interested in curriculum design and pedagogy, applied in non-classroom contexts.
The dance minor focuses on technique and requires Modern Dance II, III and IV. Three elective courses allow deeper work on technique or exploration into composition or other areas.
Dance at SUNY Potsdam allows for a wide variety of combinations of interdisciplinary work in such areas as theatre, music, psychology, community health and business.
Minor: Design and Production
The Design and Production Minor has two tracks, for Non-Theatre Majors and for Theatre Majors.
Minor: Design and Technical Theatre
The Design and Technical Theatre Minor consists of a concentration of courses in the craft, theory, and art of design and technical theatre.
Minor: Disability Studies
The Disability Studies Minor at SUNY Potsdam provides an interdisciplinary, interdepartmental approach to the study of disability. Based on the social model of disability, this program introduces students to a nuanced concept of the social construction of disability and explores issues in disability studies through multiple departments and programs of study.
Advanced Certificate: Educational Leadership
The Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership is designed for experienced teachers holding professional teaching certification who wish to become administrators within a public school setting. The program is a partnership between SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Plattsburgh.
MSED: Educational Technology Specialist
This program is intended for individuals seeking employment in a leadership position in management, training, health services, social service agencies, post-secondary education and military service.
B.A.: English: Creative Writing
The English: Creative Writing Major hones students’ abilities to write and think imaginatively and critically.
B.A.: English: Literature
The English: Literature Major provides students with a liberal arts background through coursework emphasizing literature, literary analysis, and critical writing.
B.A.: English: Literature/Writing
Students pursuing the English: Literature/Writing Major take courses focused on literature, rhetoric, creativity, and professional practice while introducing students to common forms in a variety of contexts.
B.A.: English: Writing
The English: Writing Major deepens students' capacity for thought and prepares them to reach audiences through the artful and purposeful use of the written word.
Minor: Environmental Science
The Environmental Science Minor is designed primarily for natural science majors who are interested in the environmental field.
B.A.: Environmental Studies
The Environmental Studies Major is interdisciplinary and is designed to prepare environmental leaders of the future.
Minor: Environmental Studies
The Environmental Studies Minor is designed to provide students with an understanding of human attitudes and behaviors toward nature.
