BearPAWS Web for Proxy
Students may allow a Proxy, such as a parent, to access selected BearPAWS pages and/or contact designated campus offices.
Setting up Proxy Guest account(s):
- The Student must log into BearPAWS
- Click Proxy Management (Guest Access) from the General Person Information block
- Click on Proxy Management
- Select Add new
- Fill in your Proxy Guest's Profile Information
- Enter a description of your proxy (such as "Mom") and a passphrase*
*This passphrase is how your proxy will authenticate themselves when calling SUNY Potsdam so make sure they know it! - Select Authorizations to authorize information to which your Proxy Guest may have access.
- Click Submit
- You have successfully added your Proxy Guest! They will receive a series of emails from proxyguest@potsdam.edu with further instructions.
Proxy Guest Login
Initial Login:
- The Proxy Guest will receive an email with a link; click on the link, use the temporary password, and then create a new password.
Subsequent/Regular Login:
- Proxy Guest goes to BearPAWS Student Self Service
- Type in your Email Address
- Type in your Initial Password and click Sign In
Managing Proxy Guest Access
- The Student must log in to BearPAWS
- Click Proxy Management (Guest Access) from the General Person Information block
- Click on Proxy Management
- To modify your Proxy Guest settings, click on the displayed pencil icon
Here You Can:- Disable or extend your Proxy Guest access by changing the stop dates under Proxy Information.
- Add or remove access to specific information under Authorizations
- Resend your passphrase or authorizations to our proxy by email.
