Copyright Guidelines
Copyright law exists to protect the intellectual property of creators of original works. All creative works are automatically considered copyrighted, whether or not they are registered. The law covers works created in any format, including new technological formats such as CDs, CD-ROMs, on computer disk, and on the World Wide Web; thus works in these formats, such as webpages and computer software, must be treated as copyrighted material.

Copyright protection gives authors and inventors exclusive right to control the use by others of their products and discoveries. Copyrighted works may not be reproduced, displayed publicly or performed without permission of the copyright owner. Protected works include literary, dramatic, musical, choreographic, pictorial, graphic, audiovisual and other types of works.

Copyright Compliance Information A general restriction applies on all interlibrary loan items, on any commercial materials, or home recorded material from TV shows. You must obtain written permission before asking CCI to make copies. To obtain permission, go to the Copyright Clearance Center. Please note that out-of-print books and unavailable movies in any media format may still have copyright protection. Permission must be obtained for our protection. We reserve the right to refuse to copy X-rated and/or pornographic materials.

Where is the Counseling Center located?
The College Counseling Center (CCC) is located at 131 Van Housen Hall. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The counseling staff can be reached at (315) 267- 2330.
Course Student Learning Outcomes (CSLO)
Course Student Learning Outcome (CSLO) AssessmentFaculty regularly assess student learning in the courses we teach, using the information to improve our teaching and students’ learning. The Campus Assessment Committee does not require us to submit CSLO data unless a CSLO is also a program’s assessed PSLO or a General Education SLO.
Answering the Call
COVID-19 has presented challenges that we never could have imagined. Social distancing, wearing masks, and weekly pooled saliva testing have become as familiar to the campus community as late-night visits to the library. This semester, nine SUNY Potsdam students have embraced the challenge, and are giving back to the campus community as part of a new internship to meet the demands of the global pandemic—answering the call as newly appointed contact tracers for the College.
