Merit Scholarship Rules 2026
SUNY Potsdam awards over $3,000,000 in scholarships annually to incoming and returning students. The majority of these awards are provided through the generosity of the alumni and friends of the College who wish to help students achieve their potential. To ensure fairness among applicants and recipients and comply with donors’ wishes, SUNY Potsdam has established the following policies. By accepting an award, students agree to comply with these policies.
Brian DeWitt ’79
SUNY Potsdam Alumnus Brian DeWitt ’79 just made his first trip back to Potsdam since graduating 38 years ago. Since graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biology, he has traveled all over the world as part of a highly technical and successful career working in Silicon Valley.

Conferences and Special Events
SUNY Potsdam offers outstanding workshop, seminar, meeting and conference services and banquet facilities on campus for two to 1,300 people.Housing in campus residence halls (available on a limited basis September through May) accompanied by recreation and relaxation at Maxcy Hall, our athletic complex, rounds out your conference experience at SUNY Potsdam.
