Mark Manske '82: A Day in the Life
In many ways Mark Manske’s ’82 home is a sanctuary for birds, including the two new small screech owls that were perched on his futon listening to Bruce Springstein the day we visited in June. “I’ve had three or four dozen species of critters in this house at least. If these walls could talk. I’ve banded 10 to 12 snowy owls in this house. I had a loon in my bathtub. On this very kitchen table, I’ve had everything from bard owls and great horned owls to squirrels,” Mark said.

Extraordinary Montreal Canadiens Alumni Team Plays at SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Ice Arena on Sunday
Alumni from the Montreal Canadiens will make a special appearance at the Maxcy Ice Arena for an exhibition game on Sunday, March 3rd at 3 p.m. The former NHL players will square off against a local team, the HabNots, consisting of friends of SUNY Potsdam. Of the 20 local players facing the Canadiens Alumni, five of them are SUNY Potsdam alumni. Two members of the HabNots also work at SUNY Potsdam, including men’s hockey coach Chris Bernard who helped to spearhead the exhibition game.

SUNY Potsdam Earns 2022-23 Military Friendly School Designation
SUNY Potsdam has once again earned the Military Friendly School designation for 2022-23. Institutions earning the Military Friendly School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-23 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard.
