SUNY Potsdam Marks 205 Years with ‘Charter the Path’ Day of Giving to Support Students
Two hundred and five years to the day since the New York State Board of Regents signed the charter for St. Lawrence Academy in Potsdam, N.Y., its predecessor institution is marking the occasion by reflecting on the past and building support for its next generation of students. “It is an honor to see, firsthand, the vision of our founders being realized through the dedication of our students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends, even amidst hardships,” said SUNY Potsdam President Dr. Kristin G. Esterberg.
PACES Executive Director Search Open Forums
The PACES Executive Director Search Committee will be holding Open Forum sessions with the 2 finalists candidates. This open time will give the campus community the ability to ask the candidates questions and evaluate their abilities to serve in the Executive Director role. Resumes and evaluations will be available at each session. They would like everyone to complete the evaluation and leave it with the Search Committee Representative at the conclusion of each session.
Online Registration Now Available for SUNY Potsdam’s Creative Arts Camp
SUNY Potsdam has opened registration for the College’s annual Creative Arts Camp, held at the Performing Arts Center from July 29 to Aug. 10, 2019. The day camp serves young people of all ages, from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. Students from across St. Lawrence County are invited to register online at: www.Potsdam.edu/cac.
Faculty/Staff Recognition
Macmillan International Higher Education recently published a textbook co-written by Professor Emeritus William E. Herman, titled, “Revisiting Psychology: A Student’s Guide to Critical Thought.” The book presents an overview of 12 landmark studies in psychology from diverse areas of research such as consciousness, developmental psychology, learning, memory, social psychology and psychopathology.
