If you are an online undergraduate or graduate student at SUNY Potsdam and have a documented disability, please follow the same process for requesting accommodators as our on-campus students.
Due to the nature of online coursework, students may not be assigned the same accommodations as students expected to attend in-person classes. Nonetheless, there are accommodations that OAS does frequently assign. These include but are not limited to:
- Textbooks in alternate formats (readable texts in PDF or other formats)
- Extra time for online quizzes
- Lecture recording as a note-taking accommodation
- Priority registration
- Live captioning
The Brightspace learning management system also has many built-in accessibility features. If you would like more information about accessing these and/or training, please contact our Assistive Technology Specialist, Jacob Hammond.
Additionally, certain SUNY Potsdam resources are also currently available virtually to online students. These include but are not limited to:
- Tutoring (all services listed)
- Writer’s Block
- Career services
