The Annual Fund for Potsdam
This is the area of flexibility. Gifts to the AFP cover unforeseen circumstances and opportunities as they arise. It allows for new equipment, student awards, student travel, and research – the greatest needs of the College!
The Fund for Scholarships
Each year the demand for more aid grows. With more than 85% of students at SUNY Potsdam needing some financial assistance, the Fund for Scholarships is designated a top priority for the College. Providing gifts to the Fund for Scholarships alleviates financial strain and helps our students with need to continue and succeed.
The Fund for Arts & Humanities
The creative majors at SUNY Potsdam are growing. Gifts to the Fund for Arts and Humanities means assistance for art supplies; theater set designs, student travel, and guest performers. This area also funds the social sciences like psychology, philosophy, and sociology with research programs, travel, and programming.
The Fund for Crane
The Crane School of Music, the birthplace of music education is renowned for a rich history with education, performance, and composition. Supporting Crane funds guest performers, conductors, special master classes, student travel for performances – like those to Carnegie Hall in New York City. It may also fund new instruments, music and licenses, travel for recruitment as well even underwriting support for the distinguished Crane Candlelight Concert shown each year on PBS stations.
The Fund for Teacher Education and Professional Studies
From our earliest days, our roots as an institution were founded in providing excellent teacher preparation. Your gift continues this legacy by providing support for supplies, student teaching collaborations, programming, and travel. Support also assists our distinguished professional studies, majors, like Business Administration and Public Health and Exercise Science, in preparing students for their professional careers.
The Fund for Math & Science (STEM)
Support innovative and relevant majors that are always in demand. Gifts to our Fund for Math & Science (STEM) provide enriched lab equipment for the sciences, upgraded technology, as well as expert speakers and travel to research conferences.
The Fund for Student Services
The Student Services area is far-reaching. Funding here supports the campus food pantry. Many students can’t cover the costs of the meal plans, or run out of funding before semesters end. Some students have life-altering circumstances hit, and funding from this area may mean the difference between dropping out and staying to finish their dream of a college education. This area also includes the “fun stuff,” to help students beat cabin fever, or just let off some steam, or relax from the rigors of study.
The Fund for Libraries
Our campus libraries, The Lougheed Learning Commons (which includes the Crumb Library), and Julia E Crane Memorial Library, provide the ultimate in enhanced experiential learning. Your gift provides updating and renewal of supplies, subscriptions, and equipment. Gifts sustain dynamic partnerships, experiential learning opportunities and empower our vibrant academic community to do thoughtful research, explore new ideas, and collaborate effectively to achieve success at Potsdam and beyond.
The Fund for Athletics
With 17 intercollegiate NCAA Division III teams, your gift will support the Potsdam Bears with equipment, vital trips for training and competition; as well as academic experiences in many athletics disciplines.
