Perceptions of a Pandemic

What are your beliefs about the threat of COVID-19? And what steps are you taking — or not — to avoid the virus? These are just two of the questions that SUNY Potsdam researcher Dr. Kelly Bonnar hopes to answer in a new study looking at the way beliefs and information consumption affect personal habits in relation to the novel coronavirus. Bonnar’s research harkens to a personal story which illustrated the manner in which the disease has become politicized, after she was approached in a store by a man who was not wearing a face covering.

Potsdam College Foundation Names Two New Trustees

The Potsdam College Foundation Board of Trustees appointed two new members and honored another with emeriti status at the board’s spring meeting. SUNY Potsdam alumni Adebisi Oje ’12 and Justin Sipher ’92 were both elected to serve on the Foundation Board, helping to foster giving in support of their alma mater.  

New Instruments Strike a Bright Note at The Crane School of Music

SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music has been named a recipient of a significant loan of 237 new instruments intended to bolster music education. The instruments, valued at $367,896, arrived at Crane over the past week, courtesy of the musical equipment companies Yamaha and Eastman Winds.
