The Buddy Project of St. Lawrence County
Julie Johnson and Dr. Sarah Solley have been working on an initiative to help support faculty, staff, and their families during the COVID pandemic. With the support of the NYSUT, AFT and the People Project, Julie and Sarah co-chair the Buddy Project of St. Lawrence County with Ashlee Downing-Duke of SLU. Through this new initiative, Julie, Sarah, and Ashlee reviewed the survey results from the fall survey that they sent to staff and one that was sent to area school districts. From there, they were able to identify three specific needs of the community:
SUNY Potsdam Students Conduct National COVID Survey Through Kilmer Labs Initiative
A group of hard-working SUNY Potsdam undergraduates are spending the next few months conducting a national sample survey on the impact of COVID on public opinion. Led by Dr. Robert Hinckley, an associate professor and chair of SUNY Potsdam’s Department of Politics, the students are earning academic credit and valuable firsthand experience in public opinion research.

American Red Cross Humankind Blood Drive Campaign
The American Red Cross is inviting all SUNY Potsdam students, faculty and staff to be a partner in their Humankind campaign. Humankind is a nationwide movement that’s touching college campuses across the U.S. and highlights the legacies created as blood donors.
