Taking the Pulse of the World
Isaac Griffith ’15 & ’16 knows the importance of being involved, getting out of your comfort zone and opening a new horizon.
Laura Wessing ’15
It’s hard to imagine a student doing more with their time at SUNY Potsdam than alumna Laura Wessing ’15. In four years, she graduated summa cum laude with a double major in computer science and mathematics, as well as getting a master’s degree in math through the BA / MA program. Wessing also completed three internships, two of which were with the U.S. Air Force. She now leads the quantum algorithms team at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, N.Y.—overseeing complex research on quantum bits.
Tabitha Brown ’20
It’s never too late to go back to school. Just ask Tabitha Brown ’20, who is back in college after a 25-year hiatus. After raising a family and homeschooling her children, she decided it was time to complete her bachelor’s degree—starting the same year her daughter went off to college. Brown is now excelling as a non-traditional student in SUNY Potsdam’s Department of History, where she has been delving into local history projects to explore Northern New York’s past.
Psychology and Purpose
It’s one thing to sit in a lecture hall on a campus with 50,000 students and listen to a professor rattle off the same material year after year. It’s quite another to study in a place where professors know you by name and where hands-on learning is at the heart of every experience. For Gaby Ames '26, SUNY Potsdam has been exactly that.
Rosario Fuschetto '18 & '19
It’s probably safe to say that Rosario Fuschetto ’18 & ’19 is the only music student at The Crane School of Music who also plays video games professionally. When he’s not conducting, playing his clarinet or teaching music theory, you’ll find him grinding it out on the old school Nintendo Game Cube on “Super Smash Brothers Melee”—a game he’s mastered as much as his music pedagogy.
Equipment Loan
Items below are offered for loan to faculty & staff of SUNY Potsdam only. Meeting Owls We have a limited number of Meeting Owl conference cameras available. Jaggaer
Jaggaer is our primary shopping environment and electronic requisitioning, payment and receiving system. It provides a completely electronic and paperless workflow for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, receiving and payment vouchers, and improves efficiency by allowing orders to be processed, and campus departments to access all documents, within a single system.
