Exam Scheduling Process

Procedure for Scheduling an Exam

The exam center is located in Sisson Hall 142 and is open from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

Beginning in Spring 2025, students will log in to their Accommodate portal to schedule exams in the exam center!

Note: The exam scheduling form is to be used only for students who will be completing their exams in Sisson Hall. For online courses/exams you will need to speak with your faculty member regarding any exam accommodations such as extended time.

Login to Accommodate

  1. To schedule an exam, begin by selecting ‘Exam Scheduling Form’ on the left-hand toolbar in your Accommodate portal.
  2. When you submit a ‘New Exam Request’ in Accommodate, you are registering for exam accommodations with the Office of Accommodative Services. This must be completed at least 2 days prior to your scheduled test date. Requests for exams that occur on Monday must be submitted by Thursday.
  3. Once you make an exam request, the details of your request and a Microsoft form will be sent to your professor.
  4. The form must be submitted by your instructor. (You will not need to do anything)
  5. You will receive an email the day before your test as a reminder that you signed up to take your test in the OAS office.
  6. Please note that you cannot schedule your exam in your Accommodate portal if your exam in less than 24 hours away. If an emergency occurred which results in you needing to schedule an exam with less than 24 hours' notice, you will need to email OAS@potsdam.edu AND your professor (copy them into the same email) to notify us of your intentions of taking an exam.

For additional help with exam scheduling, please visit the Accommodate Tutorials or email OAS@potsdam.edu.

Exam Policy

  1. Exams must be taken at the same time as the class unless permission is given by the instructor to take the exam at another time.
  2. You must arrive on time for the exam. If you arrive late (without notifying OAS) you will not be allowed to take the exam, and you will need to make other arrangements with your instructor.
  3. You may not bring any of the following items into the testing area electronic devices of any kind (smartwatches, cell phones, laptops, tablets, etc.) coats, backpacks, purses and calculators (unless allowed by the instructor or are part of your accommodations).
  4. We will be inspecting any test booklets or papers that you bring with you on which you will write the exam.
  5. Please go to the bathroom before you start your exam when possible. Leaving the exam area during a test is not encouraged and should be kept to a minimum.
  6. If you do not complete an exam and have to leave in order to attend another class you may not return to complete the exam unless the Office of Accommodative Services has permission of the instructor prior to starting the exam.
