SUNY Potsdam has partnered with BankMobile Disbursements to deliver your financial aid refund.

What you will need to set up your refund preference:
- Mobile Phone Number (Required)
Students must provide a valid mobile phone number capable of receiving text messages.- If your mobile number is already on file, you will be asked to confirm it.
- A one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent to your phone to verify your identity.
- Enter the OTP to continue with the refund selection process.
- If Your Mobile Number Is Missing or Incorrect
- You will be prompted to enter or update your mobile phone number.
- If adding a new number, you may need to complete identity verification, which may include:
- Uploading a valid government-issued ID
- Submitting a selfie for verification
- Security checks will be performed before the number is accepted.
- Important Security Notes
- Each student must use a unique mobile phone number.
- If a phone number is associated with three or more student profiles, access may be restricted and:
- Your refunds may default to a paper check
- Additional identity verification will be required
- If You Do Not Have a Mobile Phone
- Students who cannot receive text messages will only be able to select paper check delivery.
- Paper checks are mailed to the address on file and typically arrive within 5–7 business day
Important Updates to the Refund Process
- Personal codes and shared secrets are no longer required
- Green mailed envelopes have been discontinued
- Refund selection is now fully electronic and mobile-based for security and speed
- It is Imperative that you use/have provided Potsdam with the correct phone number to set up your account
Additional Information
Once you select paper check delivery, all future refunds will be mailed automatically to your address on file. User verification, accompanied by enhanced profile security measures, will be facilitated via mobile phone confirmation starting June 10.
