Crane Spring 2021 S/P/U Policy

Normally, required music courses must be taken for a number grade, with students earning at least 2.0 for the course to count as a passing grade. Due to the COVID crisis and the challenges facing students, the Crane School of Music has adjusted policies around counting S/P/U grades for their undergraduate majors and minors, with a grade of S required for the course to count for the degree requirement.

Building Stronger Students

North Country Teacher Gives Tools to Weather Emotional Storm of Pandemic   North Country English teacher Jennifer Hutchins ’01 knew mindfulness training would help calm and focus her middle school students—because it had helped her ride some of the most difficult emotional waters of her life.

Entry Programs

The North Country Science and Technology Entry Program (NCSTEP) and the Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) strive to increase the number of under-represented minority and low income students pursuing careers in the sciences, mathematics, engineering, technology, health, or the licensed professions. Both programs provide an array of academic and career services designed to meet each student's individual needs and assist them in achieving a career in their chosen field.

Outdoor Adventures

The North Country is beautiful in all seasons. Our region offers some of the best freshwater fishing in the world, as well as a wonderful setting for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, and much more. You can easily immerse yourself in nature by taking advantage of the many trails that dot our area, some of which are just a short walk from campus… whether you’re into hiking or if mountain biking is more your speed. No matter which path you choose, you’ll experience beautiful views of our rivers and the Adirondack foothills.
