macOS computers now feature Apple's M-series processor no longer have the ability to run both Windows and macOS. At this time Computing & Technology Services policy on Virtual Machine (VM) technology as follows:

Faculty/Staff wishing to run Windows with their college owned macOS computer need to contact the IT Service Desk by emailing with your request and include justification for needing to use Windows on your macOS Computer. Include any specific Windows software that is unavailable for the macOS.

Your request will be considered and we may suggest switching your computer from a Mac to a Windows machine instead. If it is determined that a VM is a good fit for your use case, we will follow up with the licensing costs for technology and the next steps for your department to provide reimbursement.

CTS maintains an OS image configured exactly the way standard Windows PCs are managed on campus. Macs running Windows in a VM are beholden to all existing policies, procedures, and configuration as "regular" Windows computers on campus.
