General Information
The Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability works closely with students, faculty, staff and the local community on concerns related to quality-of-life issues, including connecting students with resources to meet basic needs, assisting students in navigating academic and financial aid concerns, conflict resolution, appropriate citizenship, policy violations, academic integrity and others.
It is the goal of the office to help students learn to think proactively concerning their behavior and its effect on others, to help students advocate for themselves, and to hold students accountable for their own choices. The desired result being that students will be given the support necessary to be academically successful and accept both the responsibility and consequences for their behavior while striving to make appropriate choices.

In addition, the Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability coordinates the College's research about and response to student use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
The Office of Student Advocacy and Accountability is responsible for all conduct proceedings, on and off campus as they relate to campus policies.
A Culture of Respect
SUNY Potsdam is proud to be a Culture of Respect Collective Institution. The collective is an ambitious two-year program that guides cohort institutions through a rigorous process of self-assessment and targeted organizational change. Its goal is to build the capacity of educational institutions to end sexual and gender-based violence through ongoing, expansive organizational change.
