SUNY Potsdam raised more than $3.76 million to support scholarships and programs at the College in 2018-19, continuing the College’s successful fundraising track record. “We are incredibly fortunate to have dedicated and generous supporters at SUNY Potsdam. Our alumni and friends show their Potsdam pride every year, as they come together to support students today, while also building a strong endowment for tomorrow,” said Vice President of Advancement Sal Cania ’79 & ’82.

On-line applications are being accepted for a Director of Business Affairs. Reporting to the President, the Director will be responsible for the campus financial stability plan.

SUNY Potsdam is preparing to welcome alumni and friends back to campus for its first in-person Reunion since 2019. Alumni from all class years are invited to return for this year’s festivities, which will be held on campus from Thursday, July 14, to Sunday, July 17. Virtual events and engagement opportunities will also be available on July 12 and 13.

SUNY Potsdam is proud to announce the appointment of James M. Cruikshank ’92 & ’97 as interim dean of The School of Education and Professional Studies. A seasoned educational leader and proud alumnus, Cruikshank assumed the new role on July 2, following his recent retirement as superintendent of Norwood-Norfolk Central School. 

SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music proudly welcomed  more than 200 talented young musicians for the 52nd season of  Crane Youth Music, a beloved summer tradition that offers an immersive and inspiring musical experience for students ages 12 to 18. 

SUNY Potsdam will welcome nearly 700 alumni and friends back to campus during Reunion Weekend 2019, from Thursday, July 11 to Sunday, July 14. With a number of special celebrations and commemorations, alumni have also chosen to give back to their alma mater as they head back for reunion. SUNY Potsdam alumni and friends have given a total of $1,988,959 in honor of 2019 class reunions, as of July 8.

The Julia E. Crane School of Music Complex is home to hallmark performing spaces, including the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall, the Sara M. Snell Music Theater, the Ralph Wakefield Recital Hall, and the Robert & Beverly Washburn Rehearsal Room, as well as classrooms, large rehearsal rooms and faculty studios. Additionally, there are more than 60 practice rooms, an extensive music library, a student commons, dressing rooms, costume rooms, scenery rooms, plus piano and instrument repair shops.
