May 12, 2020 Dear students, As we all think ahead to what the future holds, we wanted to share some important updates on how SUNY Potsdam is approaching the end of the semester and how we are looking ahead. Medical Laboratory Technician Vacancy
Student Health Services is accepting on-line applications for a Medical Laboratory Technician to participate in any or all steps of medical laboratory tests on human tissue specimens and body fluids to provide data about physiological conditions to physicians and other health care professionals and scientists. This might include specimen collection, labeling, processing, packaging, computer entry, laboratory analysis and results reporting.
Potsdam's Outstanding Bear Award Nominations Being Accepted
The College is pleased to announce the “Potsdam’s Outstanding Bear Award” for CSEA represented employees. The purpose of this program is to recognize the hard work of our CSEA employees. Often times, our CSEA employees are the “quiet heroes” that contribute greatly to our campus community.

SUNY Potsdam Launches National Search for College’s Next President
The State University of New York at Potsdam has launched its national search for the College’s 18th president. SUNY Potsdam’s Presidential Search Committee has now been appointed, and the search firm RPA Inc. has been retained to recruit the institution’s next leader. SUNY Potsdam College Council Chair June F. O’Neill (Hon. ’99) will chair the Presidential Search Committee.
SUNY Potsdam Announces Winners of 2019 Learning & Research Fair Awards
SUNY Potsdam recently recognized students and faculty mentors for excellence in research and creative projects, following the College’s 2019 Learning and Research Fair. The 2019 Learning and Research Fair at SUNY Potsdam was held on April 24 in the Barrington Student Union, and featured more than 60 student projects. Top research projects were recognized with awards, which included $2,800 worth of prizes, presented in a ceremony concluding the fair.
SUNY Potsdam Chemistry Professor Receives Walker Fellowship & Has Research Findings Highlighted in Major Journal
SUNY Potsdam Professor of Chemistry Dr. Fadi Bou-Abdallah was awarded a 2019 T. Urling and Mabel Walker Research Fellowship for his project, “Design of a Sensor for Lead Detection in Drinking Water.”
